4.5 inch Chipper - Model CH45390

The Bear Cat CH45390 road towable chipper has a 390cc Honda OHV engine. Its heavy-duty axle with 4-bolt hub and 480/400 by 8 inch wheels and tires make this unit road towable.
All models are built with heavy-duty, 7-gauge chipper housing and trailer construction. Each contains a double-banded belt drive and features a feed chute opening 13 x 14.5 inches. The 14 x 1 inch thick, 49 pound dynamically-balanced disc with cantilever design reduces wrapping while utilizing two reversible chipper blades. Quick change hitch and axle can be changed to front or back of the chipper allowing the chipper to be towed from either end on both models. A 4.5 inch square optional discharge chute with deflector cap directs the chips and raises the discharge of chips into the trailer or back of a pickup.
Two inch ball coupler, safety chains, brake lights, fenders and directional signals are standard on Model 77413 which is road towable.
All three models have a four-sided adjustable steel anvil.

* ECHO Bear Cat makes chippers with gravity or hydraulic feed, powered by an engine package or a tractor PTO. A hydraulic feed machine has a hydraulic driven feed roller to efficiently feed branches to the chipper disc.
* If you have an infrequent need for a chipper and time is not a factor, a gravity feed machine
will fit your needs well.
* If time or efficiency is an issue, a hydraulic feed chipper allows you to be more productive.
* Depending on the type of wood, age, and cleanliness, chipper blades will work well for between five and ten hours. Dry, dirty wood will dull the blades faster. Hycraulis feed machines will have longer blade life.
* Proper maintenance is vital. Routine maintenance, including chipper blades, will normally take only 10 minutes.
