CH9540HPXT

9 Inch PTO Chipper
Power take offs on utility tractors have become a primary source for much of the work around farms, orchards, golf courses, etc. Any place where you need to turn a pile of branches into a pile of chips.
You choose - self feed or hydrostatic hydraulic feed for infinite feed settings - these chippers mount on your three point hitch and hook directly to the PTO for quick setup and power on demand.
Rotating 360 degrees, the 6-inch square, low profile discharge chute gives you accurate control over the flow of chips produced and is ideal for applications needing ground chip discharge. The 30 x 1 inch thick, 275 pound dynamically-balanced disc, adjustable 4-sided anvil, four reversible chipper blades. The feed roller on the CH9540HP is 15 inches in diameter, containing 10 knife blades for enhanced powerful feeding. Plate steel construction means solid performance for hundreds of hours, and maintenance is enhanced by a hinged disc cover that provides wide open access to the chipper blades and disc.

What are the tractor requirements for these chippers and chipper/shredders?

The ECHO Bear Cat® 4.5" chipper requires a tractor with PTO hp ranging from 15hp to 28hp. The ECHO Bear Cat 5" chippers and chipper/shredders require a tractor with PTO hp ranging from 25hp to 45hp. The ECHO Bear Cat 8" and 9" chippers require a tractor with PTO hp ranging from 35hp to 60hp.

How long will the chipper blades last?

Depending on the type of wood, age and cleanliness, chipper blades will work well for between 5-15 hours. Dry, dirty wood will dull the blades faster. Alternate dry and wet material to extend blade life. Hydraulic feed machines will have longer blade life.

What are these chippers designed for?

The ECHO Bear Cat® chipper is designed to effectively reduce the volume of wood, branches, and other organic material. The typical application for this product group is anywhere from light to commercial to municipalities, and/ or rental.

What type of chippers are available?

ECHO Bear Cat® makes chippers with gravity or hydraulic feed, powered by an engine package or a tractor PTO. A hydraulic feed machine has a hydraulic driven feed roller to efficiently feed branches to the chipper disc.

When do I buy a chipper powered by a tractor Power Take Off (PTO) vs. an engine-driven unit?

If you own a tractor a PTO chipper is a smart economic choice.

When should I buy a gravity feed machine?

If you have an infrequent need for a chipper and time is not a factor, a gravity feed machine will fit your needs.

When should I buy a hydraulic feed machine?

If time or efficiency is an issue, a hydraulic feed chipper allows you to be more productive.

    When should I chip?

If you don’t plan composting the material, material is green and stringy or larger than 3/4" in diameter.
