8 Inch Chipper
    The CH8720iH is powered by a 720cc Subaru EH fuel-injected engine. The CH8720iH is a uniquely designed "turntable" style chipper. The lockable turntable design allows the operator to turn the feed chute closer to the material or away from hazards, such as roadsides.
    It features a dynamically-balanced rotor that's 30 x 1.25 inches thick and 275 pounds. The rotor has 4-reversible chipper blades, made with tool steel, and a 4-sided adjustable anvil for perfectly sized chips for whatever use desired. 
    The CH8720iH now features a Digital Display Controller (DDC) hydraulic feed system with a variable speed feed roller with instant reverse.

    The chippers’ hydraulic feed system is electronically controlled. If the rotor speed drops below optimal operational RPM range, the controller pauses the feed roller to allow the rotor to regain speed, and then restarts feeding once optimal rotor RPM is achieved. This AutoFeed function allows for less fatigue on wear parts and maximizes efficiency.
    The CH8720iH uses a triple-banded belt-driven rotor design, torsion axle suspension and adjustable rear stabilizer. It also features large, front belt shield doors for easy belt and pulley service area access.

    How difficult is it to perform maintenance on the machine?

    ECHO Bear Cat products are designed with ease of maintenance in mind. Proper maintenance is vital and should be performed routinely with blades, belts and bearings being most important.

    How long will the chipper blades last?

    Depending on the type of wood, age and cleanliness, chipper blades will work well for between 5-15 hours. Dry, dirty wood will dull the blades faster. Alternate dry and wet material to extend blade life. Hydraulic feed machines will have longer blade life.

    What are these chippers designed for?

    The ECHO Bear Cat chipper is designed to effectively reduce the volume of wood, branches, and other organic material. The typical application for this product group is anywhere from light to commercial to municipalities, and/ or rental.

    What type of chippers are available?

    ECHO Bear Cat makes chippers with gravity or hydraulic feed, powered by an engine package or a tractor PTO. A hydraulic feed machine has a hydraulic driven feed roller to efficiently feed branches to the chipper disc.

    When should I buy a gravity feed machine?

    If you have an infrequent need for a chipper and time is not a factor, a gravity feed machine will fit your needs.

    When should I buy a hydraulic feed machine?

    If time or efficiency is an issue, a hydraulic feed chipper allows you to be more productive.
